Novice Scent Work

Novice Scent Work class will be offered in Session 5 (September 2026)

In this class, we will build upon the skills learned in our Scent Work Foundation class and help you and your dog acquire a better understanding of scent detection. Dogs will be introduced to and become proficient in all elements of AKC Novice Scent Work including container, buried, interior and exterior.

The Scent Work classes are progressive (meaning the dog learns in each exercise what is needed for the next); so one dog/one handler.

Note: Dogs with AKC Novice Scent Work titles or dogs who have taken this class previously are not eligible.

Admission Criteria: Completion of our Scent Work Foundation class or with instructor approval. Dogs should be introduced to and alerting on birch. Dogs with AKC Novice Scent Work titles are not eligible.
